NAIVASHA: Waste-to-energy plant

Partners: NAIVAWASCO & County Government of Nakuru

Timeframe: 2015 - Ongoing

As a first-of-its-kind fecal sludge treatment plant, we went from greenfield to operational in 15 months. The plant has capacity to serve 10,000 people and produce 350 tons of fuel per month. The plant intakes fecal sludge from exhauster trucks and outputs biomass fuels to replace firewood in industrial boilers.

Under Development

In the partnership with NAIVAWASSCO we are in the process of scaling the existing plant to intake all the fecal sludge from Naivasha. The plant will have capacity to serve 100,000 people and produce 1,200 tons fuel per month.
